Natural Dyes with Local Flora with Jamie Lyn Kara

Experience the magic of natural dyes using local flowers and seasonal plants. We will sample a handful of colors, dyeing swatches of natural fibers. Each person will leave with a set of swatches and a pair of cloth napkins dyed with flora. 

This workshop will cover: 
-The steps of preparing fabrics for dyeing 
-Types of plants that can be used to produce natural color and wild foraging tips 
-How to extract natural color onto fabric 

All materials will be provided. Happy hour with light refreshments and bites to follow.
